This commercial and public-facing project in Brasschaat marks the extensive transformation and modernization of the historic facilities for Koninklijke RUA TC Brasschaat. Developed between 2015 and 2018, the architectural intervention required an intelligent programmatic approach: balancing highly functional, high-traffic sports logistics with a welcoming, social atmosphere for club members and visitors alike.
The core design philosophy centers on visibility and connectivity. By introducing a contemporary architectural extension, the main clubhouse was structurally opened up to overlook the surrounding tennis courts. The solid facade was replaced by expansive glass panels and a strategically integrated terrace system, framing panoramic views of the sporting activities while masterfully orchestrating the transition between interior hospitality and outdoor sports fields.
Internally, the floor plan was entirely optimized to improve the fluid circulation of athletes and guests, transitioning seamlessly from the functional locker rooms to the refined, light-filled club lounge. Utilizing durable, low-maintenance, yet high-end materials, the structure was built to withstand the demands of a vibrant sports community while maintaining a sophisticated, minimalist aesthetic. The final delivery is a timeless sports pavilion that redefines the modern athletic club experience.
